This week’s What’s On! Guide is brought to you by Órla McNabola and features a few Halloween scares as well as our usual look at some of the performances taking place around the county over the next 7 days.
Oíche Shamhna shona daoibh – yes, it’s Halloween and tonight is the Carrick Halloween Tour with actor Gary Lydon. Between 7-8pm Gary and his co-actors will bring the history of Carrick on Shannon to life for children and parents/guardians as they show you around the landmarks of Carrick in a child-friendly Halloween themed show.
Fear in the Forest has returned to Drumcoura City for its second year.
Drumcoura City will be dishing up one last feast of fear tonight. From 6pm-9pm Drumcoura City’s forest comes alive with all sorts of creepy crawlies, ghouls, ghosts, zombies and much worse. Have you got the nerve to walk the trail or will you succumb to Fear in the Forest?
Tonight there will be a Halloween Fancy Dress disco in the Leitrim Gaels Clubhouse. All ages are welcome to come along to the disco which is from 6pm-8pm. Entry is €5 per child and there will be various prizes also.
The Annaduff Childrens’ Halloween Disco takes place tomorrow, and long time event organiser Mary Shanley has all the details.
Pádraig King, expert in the area of switching off anxiety and stress, begins his 4-day Brain Gym course in Boyle tomorrow, Friday. The Brain Gym course will run over the dates of 01, 02, 16 & 17 November.
Breffni Family Resource Centre have made it to the national finals of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards. The awards will be announced this Saturday.
Cork band Greenshine take to the stage in The Glens Centre in Manorhamilton this Saturday night. Band member Mary Greene talks to Órla about the band and what will be their first ever time to play in Manorhamilton.
The following day in The Glens Centre, Monica Corish will host her workshop on Creative Writing. Monica is an award-winning writer of poetry, short stories and memoir, and a certified writing group leader in the Amherst Method.
