U20 Football Finals, Leitrim Sports Star Awards – Sports Round Up – Episode 135

This week we’re looking back at the County Under 20 Final, the Minor Girls Shield Final and the Leitrim Sports Star Awards held on Saturday evening in Lough Rynn Castle.

St. Mary’s ended a 26 year drought to lift their first U20 / U21 title since 1993 with a two goal margin over Fenagh St. Caillins while St. Brigid’s had four points to spare over St. Joseph’s in the ‘B’ U20 final.

We speak to Jack Barnes, Oisin Bohan, Mark Diffley and manager Alan Doherty after their victory as well as Fenagh’s manager Bobby O’Rourke.

We catch up with Tommy Gallagher of Glencar / Manor after his U18 ladies side won the Shield Final on Saturday afternoon with a victory over Allen Gaels.

After the Leitrim Sports Star Awards, Breifne also catches up with Eileen Maxwell of Fló Beo who along with her daughter Heather and their friend Toni McGlynn completed a 245km swim the entire length of the Shannon River this year. We also take a closer look at the list of winners from the event.
