Mellissa Hewitt, Roisin McHugh, Bronagh O’Rourke & Charity Cycle – Sports Preview: Episode 222

This weekend we’re blessed amongst women once again as we look towards the Semi Finals of the Ladies Championships at all adult levels and we speak to one adventurous Rooskey woman ahead of her 660km cycle adventure next week.

With breaking news (0:58) that some sports clubs in the county have been in close contact with covid cases and 48 hour closures of all activities in 2 clubs (Kiltubrid GAA / LGFA & Carrick Town) we’ll be discussing the impact of covid on our games.

We’ll be outlining the fixtures over the weekend with action in Ladies Football (3:52) at Senior, Intermediate and Junior while the Junior A, B & C competitions continue in Men’s Gaelic Football (5:32).

The show will also include updates on National League & Women’s Youth Inter League Soccer (7:09), Trident Swimming Club (10:11) and Carrick Rowing (11:22) activities across the county.

Ahead of the Gotham Dry Wall Leitrim Ladies Senior Football Championship semi finals (13:03) we speak to Bronagh O’Rourke (13:33) of current champions St. Josephs, Mellissa Hewitt () of their opponents on Sunday, Glencar/Manor and group toppers Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins centre forward Roisin McHugh (29:32) ahead of their semi finals this weekend.

Finally Rooskey’s Lorraine McGlynn (37:08) joins us to share details of her marathon cycle next week where she will be cycling 660km over 4 days in aid of Cycle Against Suicide.
