It’s a full house on the Leitrim sporting front this weekend with Leitrim Footballers, Hurlers and Ladies Footballers in action, we’re talking to a member of each squad as well as previewing the SSE Airtricity League as well as featuring some of our up and coming international athletes.

Breifne will be previewing the soccer action with both Sligo Rovers first home game against St. Patrick’s Athletic and Longford Town starting their season against Shamrock Rovers at home on Saturday.

Donal Wrynn who’s relishing his return to the Leitrim footballers ranks looks back at the opening three games in Division 3 of the Football League and the upbeat mood in the camp ahead of the arrival of fellow relegation candidates Offaly on Sunday in what looks like a must win game.

Leitrim Hurler Liam Moreton joined Breifne to chat about the victory over Cavan last weekend despite the last minute changes to the venue and time and the hopes ahead of this weekend’s visit to Sligo on Sunday afternoon.

Not to be outdone her club and school team mate Hannah Johnston is also making waves in green with a call up to the Irish U18 Rugby squad for their tour in Scotland this weekend.
