Intermediate Football Championship – Sports Preview: Episode 205

We’re celebrating the return of competitive sport to the playing pitches and sporting arenas of Leitrim this evening with the much anticpated start of the Leitrim GAA Club Football Championships. First up is a look at this season’s Smith Monumentals Intermediate Football Championships which throws in this evening in Cloone.

On today’s Sports Preview show we’ll be chatting to each side gearing up to participate in this years competition which promises to be the most competitive championship in Gaelic Games in Leitrim this season with any of the clubs capable of taking a major scalp from any one else in their group.

Ten teams take to the field this weekend in search of that Intermediate crown and the precious promotion to Senior Football that comes with the victory. We’re talking to Kiltubrid captain Micky McCormack (7:43) & skipper of Annaduff Alan Glancy (13:25) ahead of tonights opening clash in Cloone at 8:30pm.

We’ll also check in with participants in tomorrow’s games including: Ballinaglera manager Kevin Nolan (17:20), Bornacoola boss Seamus Mallon (21:37), Liam Higgins, newly appointed manager of Eslin (26:41), Michael Forde Chairman of Drumkeerin (33:03), Gortletteragh player Niall Woods (38:16) & captain of St. Patrick’s Dromahair Michael Clancy (44:18).

Without a fixture this weekend we also catch up with Wayne Gilgunn of Aughnasheelin (49:54) and Gary Reynolds, captain of Carrigallen (57:59).
