Episode 63: Sports Round Up

We’re all about the local waterways this week on the show as Lough Key Sprint Triathlon, The 13th Great Jamestown to Drumsna Swim Fin Snorkel Sat and the completion of Fló Beo as our trio of local swimmers finished their journey on the River Shannon and reached Limerick at the mouth of the Shannon Estuary.

Breifne catches up with Toni McGlynn, Eileen and Heather Maxwell of Fló Beo, Finbarr Keaney of Lough Key Triathlon Club and Gerry Gilroy of Leitrim Sub Aqua Club.

We take a look back at the U13 Championship Final last Friday with St. Marys GAA manager Damien Butler and winning captain Cian Reynolds.

Matthew Earley shares his thoughts after his Sligo Rugby Club side scored two late tries to rescue a 21-21 draw in their Connacht Rugby Senior League clash with Buccaneers in Sligo yesterday afternoon.

We finish the show with a conversation with Cormac Flynn about the U12 tournament named after his father, former Club and Leitrim GAA County Board Chairman, Joe Flynn. The event was hosted by St. Mary’s for the second time on Saturday to remember the contribution made by his dad in a lifetime dedicated to Gaelic Games in the town and around the county.
