Episode 57: Sports Round Up
We’re focusing on the three main field sports this weekend on the show with Rugby, Soccer and Gaelic Games dominating the final weekend before the school’s kick back into gear this week.

We kick off with Leitrim representation at Inter Provincial Rugby for both Connacht and Leinster Schools this weekend with no fewer than five Leitrim players involved. Breifne finds out about wins for U19 Boys and U18 Girls with Matthew Earley and Hannah Johnston.
In Women’s Soccer Dearbhaile Beirne took a big step towards a Women’s National League title with her Peamount United side this weekend, while Muireann Devaney scored the winner for Sligo Rovers in their U17 League victory over Limerick.
Closer to home in Gaelic Games, there was a full round of fixtures in the club football championships for both men and women this weekend. We’re catching up on all the action with Joe Flynn & Mark Diffley of St. Mary’s, Noel Plunkett of Aughawillan, Mohill’s Shane Quinn, former county players Gareth Phelan (Melvin Gaels) and James Glancy (Glencar / Manor), Bryan Whitney (Drumreilly).
