Episode 106: Sports Preview

This weekend we’re looking at the County Senior Hurling final between Carrick Hurling and Cluainin Iomaint on Saturday afternoon. We’re also chatting to Mohill’s Dearbhaile Beirne after her Peamount United side won their place in the FAI Senior Women’s Final.

Ahead of the Hurling final Breifne Earley is joined by Carrick player Liam Moreton & Cluainin selector Mark Boyle to discuss their respective teams preparations for the sport’s centre piece this weekend. Liam shares how the progress of his Leitrim Gaels team in the Football championships has affected preparations.

Michelle Heslin of St. Joseph’s tells us about her disappointment after loosing the Connacht Intermediate Championship final at the hands of St. Nathy’s of Sligo last weekend.

Aidan Heron, chairman of the LGFA county board joins Breifne to tell us all about The Kube fundraising event in the Landmark Central on Saturday 26th October to raise funds for Leitrim’s underage development programmes.

To wrap up the show we are joined by International Soccer player Dearbhaile Beirne from Mohill to gauge her excitement at reaching her third FAI Senior Cup final with her Peamount United team mates. They will face Wexford in the Aviva showpiece on 3rd November.
