Episode 58: Faces and Places – Mohill Agricultural Show & Shane Meehan
We’ve an interesting show today with Órla McNabola taking a trip to the Mohill Agricultural Show to meet some of the organisers, visitors and exhibitors at the 92nd Annual Agricultural Show in Mohill before we cast our minds back to the Joe Mooney Summer School where Breifne sat down with Shane Meehan to discuss his new album.
Supported by: Urban Fit Crew BoxFit in Kiltoghert.
She meets one of the secretaries of the show committee Lourda McGowan, master of ceremonies Enda Stenson, Declan Doonan and his donkey Jack with his trap and committee member Michael McGrath as well as a number of other visitors to the show.
In the second half of the show Shane Meehan joined Breifne to discuss his music career from attending the Joe Mooney Summer School to now returning to teach at the week long traditional music festival. They also chat about his major influences from within his family and around the county and further afield.
His album ‘Twill Do’ was launched a number of weeks ago in the Dock in Carrick on Shannon and we’ll be hearing a few tunes from the album played by Shane on his fiddle.
