Episode 36: Kiss My Arts – Charlie McGettigan
This week for Kiss My Arts, I’m joined by 1994 Eurovision Song Contest Winner Charlie McGettigan. An adopted son of the town of Drumshanbo, as well as one of the most talented guitar players in the country.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Kid joined Breifne on the show this week for a three way conversation which includes his guitar. The result is a meandering wander through his arrival to the town, why he lasted slightly longer than the initial six months he planned and how the GAA’s Scor competition quickly integrated him into the community of the lakeside town.
We discuss how Drumshanbo kept him grounded after his historic Eurovision win, how much of a role his grand children play in his life and giving opportunities to the next generation of talented young musicians.
Sharing a few songs and a few yarns, I’m sure Charlie will entertain you on this bank holiday weekend.
