Enda McGloin & Mary Bohan – A Current Affair: Episode 156

Cllrs Enda McGloin & Mary Bohan join Breifne Earley for a discussion on the pressing issues of the day including their disagreement detailed on the front page of the Leitrim Observer this week with respect to the now cancelled RIC commemoration.

Laughing off the difference of opinion they got down to discussing the important concerns for the council and the people of the county. During this week’s show they talk about the Border Region Stimulus package worth €28 which will initially offer the Local Enterprise Office €500,000 for local businesses and have other opportunities and benefits for the brexit affected companies in the county and the border region.

They discuss the delay in the Primary Care Centre in Carrick on Shannon, the reopening of the childcare facility in Manorhamilton, the fall in house sales across the county, the 100 community groups in the county who will benefit from the Rural & Community Development grants.

The issue of the RIC Commemmoration is discussed with both politicians given the opportunity to explain the reality of their own versions of the story reported in the local press during the week where Cllr McGloin confirms it was never his intention to attend an event honouring the Black and Tans.

Finally both Cllr Bohan and McGloin offer their opinions on the upcoming general election and who’s likely to be in the shake up for seats whenever the election does take place.
